Teen Driver Crashes Vehicle At Coachella Casino

The wreck was reported at Spotlight 29 Casino, 46-200 Harrison Place.

COACHELLA, CA — A teenager practicing driving in the parking lot of Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella escaped injury Wednesday when she smashed into a security fence, casino officials said.

The solo vehicle crash was reported at about 11:50 a.m. at the casino located at 46-200 Harrison Place, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP initially reported that a 10-year-old juvenile was behind the wheel of the vehicle when it crashed into property owned by the casino. The agency cited casino security staff in its report.

A casino public relations official later confirmed that a 17-year-old girl made an error while practicing driving, and that she was unlicensed.

She was not injured, the CHP said.
