2 Injured In Coachella Valley Crash

Police said the driver, 18-year-old Eber Leonidas of Indian Wells, was traveling westbound at a high rate.

INDIAN WELLS, CA -- Two people were injured early Sunday morning in Coachella Valley after their car crashed into a center median. Indian Wells Police said the incident was reported at 2:20 a.m. Sunday when a car crashed in the 77000 block of Highway 111.

Police said the driver, 18-year-old Eber Leonidas of Indian Wells, was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when he collided into a palm tree in the center median.

Leonidas sustained moderate injuries, and the front passenger sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They were both transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.

During the investigation, it was determined that Leonidas showed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol, and a DUI investigation was conducted, police said.
