"Broken Open" Premieres March 6 at UCR Palm Desert
Alzheimers Coachella Valley's Major Fundraiser: A Must See Event for Anyone on an Alzheimer's Journey
“Broken Open” is a poignant one-act drama about a daughter desperately trying to discover the truth of her father’s identity from her mother before Alzheimer’s finally erases her mother’s memory forever.
The play premieres at Alzheimer’s Coachella Valley’s major fundraising event on Friday, March 6, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the University of California Riverside, Palm Desert campus, 75080 Frank Sinatra Drive.
“Written by up-and-coming Coachella Valley playwright Isabelle Sarfati, Broken Open is a must-see play for anyone on an Alzheimer’s journey,” said Mary Willis, chair of the event. “The dialog reveals more than just a daughter’s frustration dealing with her mother’s memory loss but also the angst of a woman who has been denied an important truth about her own identity. The play centers on Bella’s final attempt to break open Mami’s 60-year-old secret.”
