Children's Discovery Museum of Desert Celebrates 20th Birthday

A Birthday Party Celebration will be held on Sunday, February 25 for the Children's Discovery Museum of Desert.

From the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert: The Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert will celebrate its 20th year at its home on Gerald Ford Drive with a Birthday Party Celebration on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Museum admission for the day will be free as a thank you to all the families who continue to support the Museum. General public of all ages are welcome to join the free event to get to know the Museum.

The Museum was founded 30 years ago by a group of citizens who wanted to make sure that the children of the valley had a safe place to explore and imagine. Twenty years ago, the Honorable Walter Annenberg and the Annenberg Foundation gifted the land on Gerald Ford to CDMOD.

“This location has been the Museum’s home for the past 20 years. We are celebrating this milestone as a community treasure,” CEO Carol E. Scott said.

Building on the idea that the Museum is a community treasure, Birthday Party guests are encouraged to dress up as pirates and look for the many treasures within the Museum. Each family will have the opportunity to participate in a treasure hunt and can win prizes like museum membership, admission passes, and even a party of their own! There will also be cake, music, face painting, a photo booth from Depiction Photography, performances and more activities available throughout the afternoon. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.
