CHP Invites Parents To Save Kids' Lives
The CHP's Start Smart program, a free driver safety education class that targets new and future teen drivers, is coming to the Indio CHP.

Press Release From the California Highway Patrol: The Indio CHP Office will be holding its next Start Smart teen driving class on Thursday, March 19th at 6 p.m. The class is designed to help prepare teens for the situations they may come across as new drivers. Topics discussed are tips to avoid collisions, safe driving habits, dynamics of a collision, consequences of a poor choice behind the wheel of a vehicle, testimonies of people tragically impacted by incidents involving teen drivers, parental roles and responsibilities and legal ramifications and civil liabilities affecting teen drivers and their parents.
Parents and/or guardians are required to attend with the teen drivers. All attendees will receive a certificate of completion as a result of participating in the course. Some insurance companies offer discounts to new drivers for completing the course.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration reports the number one cause of death for teens from is automobile collisions.

A reservation for this class is REQUIRED and certificates of participation will be available upon completion. Parents/ Guardians are REQUIRED to attend with their teen(s). Call 760-772-5300 to sign up for the class. Any, and all questions are welcome.
