COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser on Friday signed a public health order canceling the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival slated for April.

"We look forward to when the events may return," Kaiser said on social media.

The two popular events held annually at the Empire Polo Club in Indio attract hundreds of thousands of music lovers from around the globe. According to Kaiser's order, given the concerts' high attendance rates, any COVID-19 infections would be "infeasible, if not impossible" to trace those at risk.
