Coroners Identify Palm Desert Pool Drowning Victim

PALM DESERT, CA — Authorities Thursday identified a senior citizen who drowned in a backyard pool in Palm Desert.

Walter Tebeau, 82, of Palm Desert was found at 9:11 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 72000 block of Somera Road, just off state Route 74.

Tebeau was found unresponsive in the pool by responding county firefighters and sheriff's deputies, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman April Newman said, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
