Excessive Heat Warning Issued In Coachella Valley

High temperatures in the Coachella Valley could reach 106 by Tuesday, then drop to 103 on Wednesday and Thursday

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Hot temperatures are expected in the Coachella Valley through Friday and an excessive heat warning has been issued by the National Weather Service.

High pressure will weaken Monday and cause a slight dip in temperatures, but conditions will strengthen on Tuesday and bring temperatures back up through Thursday, forecasters said.

The NWS excessive heat warning will last until 9 p.m. Thursday.

High temperatures Monday will be 103 in the Coachella Valley, 99 in the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning, 75 in Idyllwild, 88 in Lake Elsinore, 85 in Temecula and 89 in Hemet.

Nighttime lows are expected to remain in the low- to mid-70s through Thursday in the Coachella Valley, meaning the minimal cooling at night could pose a health risk to those who don't have access to air conditioning because the body needs time to cool down from the day's heat, according to the NWS.
