Family YMCA of the Desert Offers Fun-Filled Spring Break Day Camp

For kids ages 6 to 12, Family YMCA of the Desert is offering a Spring Break Day Camp from March 26 -30.

From Family YMCA of the Desert: Spring Break is upon us, and that means kids will be out of school and looking for things to do. It’s easy! For kids ages 6 to 12, Family YMCA of the Desert is offering Spring Break Day Camp from March 26 -30, 2018. The Camp takes place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the cost is $156 per child, ages 6 to 12 years old. The week-long session includes swim day on Friday, March 30th, at the Palm Desert Aquatic Center.

Campers will be able to participate in a variety of activities including Nerf Tag, Lego Building and adventures such as experiments, games and other activities. The Nerf portion gives the children an opportunity to play different dart games involving strategy and teamwork. The Y will provide everything needed to participate including dart blasters, vision protection and supervision. The Lego activities are open to the imagination to build a variety of construction such as pyramids, demolition derby cars, suspension bridges, machines, catapults and more. The other adventure activities open to the campers are conducting various fun and challenging experiments, and participating in games and other fun activities.

Celebrating 35 years of providing services to residents of all ages in the Coachella Valley, Family YMCA of the Desert has over 400 staff members and 200 volunteers, serving over 3,800 children and families every day at 41 locations across the Coachella Valley. In honor of this celebration, the Y invites everyone who has been involved with the Y, in any format and at any Y across the country, to submit their story to “Were You a Y Kid” about their experience for an opportunity to win prizes. With monthly or more drawings, prizes include but are not limited to Starbucks gift cards, dining gift cards and more, valued from $5 to $15. Current and former Y-Kids, adults who were Y-Kids, and adults involved with Y-Kids can submit their story here.
