Feds Give Eisenhower Health 5-Star Rating

The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating provides information on how well hospitals provide recommended care to their patients.

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA — Eisenhower Health received five stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in its Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating released Thursday, an achievement that only 15 percent of hospitals nationwide attained, according to the health care provider.

The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating provides information on how well hospitals provide recommended care to their patients. The information is designed to help consumers make informed decisions about health care.

The rating summarizes up to 57 quality measures reflecting common conditions that hospitals treat, such as heart attacks or pneumonia, as well as, measures that focus on hospital-acquired infections, including catheter-associated urinary tract infections.

The overall rating demonstrates how well each hospital performed, on average, as compared to other U.S. hospitals.
