Firefighters Conduct Training At Idyllwild Prescribed Burn
Smoke from the burn will be visible but will soon dissipate, the fire department said.

IDYLLWILD, CA — A six-acre prescribed burn was scheduled for Thursday morning in Idyllwild.
Firefighters were slated to conduct the burn in forest land adjacent to 25380 Franklin Drive beginning around 8:30 a.m., and it was scheduled to conclude by noon, the Riverside County Fire Department said.
"The project is aimed at eliminating timber litter so that native grasses can return to the area; as well as reducing the hazard posed by flammable vegetation," according to a statement from the fire department.
