Free Rides Home On Christmas, New Year's In The Coachella Valley

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — If you're going to be out drinking in the Coachella Valley, don't risk getting behind the wheel. Especially when you can get a "lyft" home for free. Once again, a local legal group is sponsoring a safe ride home program — this time for several days over the holiday season.

Walter Clark Legal Group is working with the rideshare company Lyft by providing a promo code for a free one-way ride home. The code — WCLGHOLIDAY — is valid for use between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day in the Coachella Valley and Victorville areas.

"We do this to bring attention to the drunk driving problem, which I don’t think is ever solved by punishing impaired drivers," Walter Clark said in a news release. "The best solutions include good public transportation and reinstatement of laws to hold restaurants and bars responsible for harm resulting from overserving their guests."
