Grab The Kids! Children's Discovery Museum of Desert Open Until 8 P.M. Tonight!

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA - Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert will keep its doors open for three extra hours tonight, with a free event sponsored by the city of Rancho Mirage.

The museum typically closes at 5 p.m. daily, but hosts "$5 after 5'' promotions on the third Thursday of each month, keeping the museum open until 8 p.m. to all visitors.

However tonight's event will allow complimentary access to all the museum's exhibits for those who might not usually have the opportunity.

"Between school, jobs, sports and other activities, we understand that it can be challenging to visit us during regular business hours,'' said Carol Scott, museum chief executive officer. "We are grateful to the city of Rancho Mirage for sponsoring this event and hope it will give parents a greater window to get to the museum and allow families more chances to explore, play, create and discover.''

Those who have already paid admission may remain inside the museum and those who have left may return for the extended hours with a valid receipt.
