Hot Purple Energy Hosts Annual Neglected Bike Drive

During all of May, HPE offers a place for neglected/abandoned bicycles to be dropped off, fixed up, and distributed to those less fortunate.

From Cord Media Company: Hot Purple Energy (HPE) is celebrating National Bike Month by hosting the 4th Annual Neglected Bike Drive. During the entire month of May, HPE is offering a place for neglected or abandoned bicycles to be dropped off, fixed up, and distributed to those less fortunate in the Coachella Valley.

HPE is offering several options to participate in National Bike Month:
• Drop an old bike off in its current state to HPE during business hours and they will find it a much-needed home.
• Buy a children's bike and drop it off at HPE during business hours.
• Not ready to part with your bike? That’s okay. Just be sure you ride it! Bikes are fun and healthy and should never be neglected.

In past years, HPE has redistributed hundreds of bikes for kids from Thermal to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. This year, Mike’s Bike Truck, a mobile bike shop local to the Coachella Valley, has already donated over $500 in tires and parts and also has offered to repair bikes throughout the month.
