I-10 Crash Blamed For Bermuda Dunes Traffic Jam

The wreck was reported on the eastbound I-10, east of Washington Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

BERMUDA DUNES, CA — At least one person was hurt Friday when a truck veered off Interstate 10 and into a ravine near Bermuda Dunes.

The solo vehicle crash was reported at 7:06 a.m. on the eastbound I-10 east of Washington Street, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic information page.

Witnesses said the truck was swerving prior to departing the roadway off the right shoulder.

The CHP reported the vehicle ended up 50 feet down the ravine.

At least one person suffered injuries described as minor. It was unclear if anybody was hospitalized.

A traffic jam reportedly affected motorists in the area following the crash, but the scene was clear as of 9:30 a.m.
