An Indio man was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of DUI in Rancho Mirage, a sheriff's sergeant said.
Deputies responded about 1:30 a.m. Jan. 12 to a single-vehicle crash at Highway 111 and Bob Hope Drive, Sgt. Andy Martinez said in a statement.
The driver, Gamaliel Sosa, 24, of Indio, failed to negotiate a northbound turn onto Bob Hope from the 111, Martinez said.
"Sosa drove over the center median of Bob Hope Dr., struck a tree, a small wall, an upright lane directional sign, and came to rest on the northwest corner of the intersection," Martinez said.
No one was injured in the crash. Sosa was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked at Indio Jail.
