Man ID'd In Deadly Palm Springs Crash

The crash happened early Saturday morning.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — A man who died when the vehicle he was driving slammed into a block wall in Palm Springs was identified Monday as a Desert Hot Springs resident.

Oscar Eguizaval-Bautista, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash that occurred about 2:15 a.m. Saturday near East San Rafael Drive and North Sunrise Way.

A passenger in the vehicle was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

Police said there were no other vehicles involved in the crash, and it was unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role.
