Motorcyclist Killed in Palm Desert Crash ID'd by Coroner

The CHP is investigating the deadly crash.

PALM DESERT, CA — The Riverside County coroner's office has released the name of the motorcyclist killed Sunday when he crashed into a commercial building in Palm Desert.

Tyler Rafael Hoffman, 24, lived in Cathedral City, the coroner said.

The crash was reported just before 3 p.m. on Las Montanas Road near El Viento Road, California Highway Patrol Officer H. Gutierrez said.

For unknown reasons, the motorcyclist "failed to slow for the curve at El Viento Road and continued in a westerly direction towards a commercial building," Gutierrez said. He crashed into the building and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call Officer R. Chavez at 760-772-5300.
