The adopted son of former California governor and President Ronald Reagan is scheduled to speak at a Jan. 20 campaign event for state Assemblyman Brian Nestande in his bid for the 36th Congressional District.
The event is scheduled at 12 noon next Monday at Monteleone Meadows in Murrieta, outside Nestande's assembly district. Tickets are $100.
Nestande, R-Palm Desert, represents the 42nd Assembly District, which includes Banning, Beaumont, Cabazon, Calimesa, Cherry Valley, Hemet, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Mentone, Morongo Valley, Oak Glen, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, San Jacinto, Twentynine Palms, Yucaipa and Yucca Valley.
Michael Edward Reagan, 68, of Los Angeles, is the adopted son of Ronald Reagan and his first wife, Jane Wyman. He and his sister Maureen remained with their mother after Reagan and Wyman divorced in 1949, according to a PBS biography, "The Reagan Children."
Here is the event announcement from Nestande's congressional campaign staff:
Michael Reagan, the son of President Ronald Reagan will headline an event for Assemblyman Brian Nestande in his bid for Congress on Monday, January 20 2014, the 33rd anniversary of President Reagan's inauguration. Michael is a nationally respected author and former radio show host.
"I'm supporting Brian Nestande for Congress because he has the guts to fight for us. The path the Obama Democrats are leading us down is the wrong direction. Brian will fight against big government programs like Obamacare that cripple our economy by limiting job growth. Brian Nestande has committed to me personally that his goal is to get government off the backs of the people who work hard to help their families. That's why I’m coming to support Brian Nestande." Michael Reagan
The luncheon will be held at Monteleone Meadows, a Reagan ranch like setting in Murrieta. The fundraiser with Michael Reagan will be held on January 20th at 12 noon in Murrieta.
Tickets for the event start at $100. For more information please contact Nestande for Congress at (760) 610-6060.
