One Person Seriously Hurt in Freeway Crash Near Coachella
A vehicle crashed into a tractor trailer on westbound Interstate 10 at Summit Road.

One person was seriously injured Monday morning when a vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 10, east of Coachella.
The crash -- reported at 6:38 a.m. -- happened on westbound Interstate 10 at Summit Road, near the unincorporated community of Chiriaco Summit, Riverside County fire spokeswoman Jennifer Fuhrman said.

One victim was cut from the wreckage and flown by helicopter to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
