Palm Desert Commercial Burglary Suspect Arrested

PALM DESERT, CA — A suspect sought in connection with a Palm Desert commercial burglary has been arrested, the sheriff's department announced.
Luis Ramirez, 22, of Indio was taken into custody around 12:45 p.m. Thursday in the 79000 block of Varner Road in Indio and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of second-degree burglary, jail records showed.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, around 3 a.m. Nov. 23 Ramirez "forced his way" into a business in the 77000 block of Country Club Drive and "stole several hundred dollars worth of merchandise."

It's not clear what led investigators to Ramirez.
Ramirez was released from jail on the same day of his arrest on $0 bail and is due in court May 10, jail records showed.
