Public Invited to Preview Proposed San Pablo Improvements
The Open House will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Administrative Conference Room at City Hall.

From the City of Palm Desert: The public is invited to an Open House on Tuesday, July 11, where the community will have a chance to preview proposed improvements to San Pablo Avenue. The Open House will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Administrative Conference Room at City Hall, located at 73510 Fred Waring Drive (northeast corner of Fred Waring and San Pablo).
In May 2016, the City of Palm Desert hosted Vision San Pablo, a fun, family-friendly event that demonstrated proposed changes intended to reimagine and reenergize the San Pablo Avenue Corridor. These changes include a “road-diet” that would remove one vehicle lane in each direction and install round-a-bouts and enhanced sidewalks and buffered bike lanes on the street. The goal was to make San Pablo Avenue part of a pedestrian and bike friendly city center and enhance the connection between El Paseo/Highway 111 and the Palm Desert Civic Center and College of the Desert.
In light of the positive feedback about Vision San Pablo from neighbors and the surrounding community, the City has explored and considered a variety of options for the San Pablo corridor and recently selected a final design concept. The Open House on July 11 will give the community a chance to see the conceptual design prior to its presentation to the Palm Desert City Council at its regularly scheduled meeting on July 13 at 4 p.m.
