Rain Alters San Pablo Avenue Closure Schedule: Palm Desert
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time or use alternate routes such as Portola Avenue, Royal Palm Avenue or San Luis Rey Avenue.

PALM DESERT, CA — A portion of San Pablo Avenue has been closed in both directions between Highway 111 and San Gorgonio Way, it was announced Thursday by Palm Desert officials.
The closure, which was rescheduled from Monday because of rain, is now scheduled to continue until 7 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, barring additional rain delays. If inclement weather occurs, the closure could be extended through Wednesday, April 15, to complete the work, officials said.
The rest of San Pablo will be open to northbound and southbound traffic.

Access to businesses along the closed section of San Pablo will be available via San Gorgonio Way and the alleys behind the businesses on each side of the street. A detour will funnel southbound San Pablo traffic onto San Gorgonio and Monterey Avenue, according to the officials.
The temporary closure is being implemented to expedite construction and ensure that the San Pablo Avenue improvement project is completed next month, officials said.
