Riverside County Supervisor Manuel Perez Takes Office
"I am humbled and excited. We have a lot of work to do together as a district," Perez said.

From the County of Riverside: Riverside County Supervisor Manuel Perez took the oath of office (5/12), officially assuming his duties representing the county’s Fourth Supervisorial District. The oath was administered at about 10 a.m. in the offices of the Board of Supervisors in downtown Riverside.
"I am humbled and excited,” Perez said. “We have a lot of work to do together as a district. I will be reaching out to all communities in the form of listening tours to better understand the concerns of my constituents. This morning was my first official briefing on the budget and I will be following up with staff next week on next steps. Please do not hesitate to contact my office."
Gov. Jerry Brown appointed Perez, 44, earlier this week to complete the term of Supervisor John Benoit, who passed away in December due to pancreatic cancer. His term as supervisor term runs through 2018. Perez served in the California Assembly between 2008 and 2014, and was later elected to the Coachella City Council. He currently oversees the Department of Government and Public Affairs for Borrego Health.
