Road Work To Close Half-Mile Of San Pablo Avenue Friday
The closure affects a stretch of San Pablo between Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive.

PALM DESERT, CA — A one-day closure of San Pablo Avenue is set for Friday to allow city work crews to place rubberized asphalt along a roughly half-mile stretch of road between Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive. The stretch of road is expected to reopen after 9 p.m..
According to a city news release, detours to surrounding neighborhoods are available via Las Palmas Avenue and San Luis Rey Avenue.
The road work "represents a significant step as this major improvement project nears completion," said Palm Desert spokesman spokesman, who advised drivers to "use alternate routes such as Portola Avenue, Royal Palm Avenue, or San Luis Rey Avenue."

The road work does not affect the businesses located along the closed section of San Pablo. They can be accessed via San Gorgonio Way, Palm Desert Drive North, and the east and west alleys behind the businesses on each side of the street.
