Road Work Closes Parts Of San Pablo Avenue Until Later This Week
Barring inclement weather, road work forces motorists to seek alternate routes until Thursday. Rain could delay the re-opening of the area.
PALM DESERT, CA — A portion of San Pablo Avenue will be closed in both directions between Highway 111 and San Gorgonio Way. The closure is scheduled to begin Monday morning and continue until 7 a.m. Thursday barring rain delays. If inclement weather occurs, the closure could be extended through Friday to complete the work. The rest of San Pablo will be open to northbound and southbound traffic.
Access to businesses along the closed section of San Pablo will be available via San Gorgonio Way and the alleys behind the businesses on each side of the street. A detour will funnel southbound San Pablo traffic onto San Gorgonio and Monterey Avenue. The temporary closure is intended to expedite construction and ensure that the improvement project is completed this May.
Delays are possible and motorists are encouraged to allow extra time or use alternate routes such as Portola Avenue, Royal Palm Avenue, or San Luis Rey Avenue.
