2 Found Dead Inside Rancho Mirage Medical Office

UPDATE 12:05 p.m.: Sheriff's officials say two people were found dead inside a medical office in Rancho Mirage today.

"There is no threat to the public and there are no outstanding suspects," the sheriff's department said on Twitter. "RSO Central Homicide Unit is on scene assuming the investigation."

Sheriff's officials said no additional victims.

The entire business complex was expected to remain closed through late afternoon while sheriff's Central Homicide Unit investigators work the scene.

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is investigating a shooting in the Rancho Mirage area this morning, Patch has learned.

The community is being asked to avoid the area of the Highway 111 near Indian Trail. A sheriff's spokeswoman says the incident was reported just after 9:30 a.m. in the 71500 block of Highway 111.

Several police vehicles have been spotted at the scene. The Riverside County Fire Department was also dispatched to the location for a "medical" call, records show.
