Woman Shot In Palm Springs Neighborhood, Dies At Hospital
The shooting was reported in the Desert Highland Gateway Estates neighborhood.
PALM SPRINGS, CA — A woman was fatally shot in Palm Springs Thursday morning, and police are looking for witnesses.
Officers were sent about 2:40 a.m. to the area of Rosa Parks Road and Granada Avenue in the Desert Highland Gateway Estates neighborhood on a shooting report, according to the Palm Springs Police Department. Around the same time, officers learned that time a gunshot victim had died at Desert Regional Medical Center shortly after arrival.
The woman was identified as 19-year-old Alexus Franco of Indio.

Detectives found "evidence of a shooting" two blocks north of the initial call location in the area of Bon Air Drive and Granada Avenue, police said.
Additional information, including a possible motive, was not released.
