Best Hospitals: Stanford Hospital No. 2 in California
Stanford also earned kudos as one of the top hospitals in all of California.

A Peninsula teaching hospital received national honors this week when it was named to the Honor Roll of medical centers in U.S. News and World Reports annual rankings.
The University of San Francisco Medical Center tied for the No. 7 spot on the list with New York-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell, N.Y.
UCSF Medical Center also ranked No. 2 among California hospitals, a rating it shared with Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto.

Stanford also ranked nationally in 13 adult specialties and was high-performing in two adult specialties: Diabetes & Endocrinology and Rehabilitation.
The rankings, now in their 24th year, cover nearly 5,000 medical centers across the country and span 16 medical specialties, from cancer to neurology & neurosurgery. Hospitals that rank near the top of at least six specialties earn a spot on the Honor Roll. Just 18 distinguished hospitals made this year's list, with USF Medical Center among that elite group, the Huffington Post reported.
