Chamber Kicks Off 'Takeout Tuesday' In Palo Alto
The campaign aims to boost to-go and delivery business for local restaurants hit hard by coronavirus mandates.
PALO ALTO, CA — Move over, "Taco Tuesday." "Takeout Tuesday" has arrived.
Courtesy of the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce, the newly launched campaign puts a focus on local restaurants trying to survive on to-go-only rules imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Participating in 'Takeout Tuesday'(#TakeOutTuesday) is a way for residents to support their favorite restaurants, many of which are struggling to maintain a successful level of business, both to provide healthy and safe food for our community and to keep as many of their workers employed as possible, workers who depend on their jobs to support their own families," the chamber said.

And, of course, there's no need to limit takeout options to Tuesdays only. Any day of the week will do.
“Takeout Tuesday, and takeout or delivery any day of the week, is a way to say thank
you to our restaurant owners and workers and help them stay in business while the
shelter-in-place orders continue and in-restaurant dining is disallowed,” said Chmaber President Judy Kleinberg, adding that gift card purchases are another option to help support local eateries.
