Experience Diwali Festival Of Lights In Palo Alto

The Palo Alto City Library invites the community to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights on Sunday, November 3 from 2-5 p.m.

The Palo Alto City Library invites the community to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights on Sunday, November 3 from 2-5 p.m. at the Mitchell Park Community Center, 3700 Middlefield Road. Diwali, which means “row of lamps,” is celebrated every autumn in the Northern Hemisphere and signifies the triumph of light over dark or good over evil.

Attendees can experience traditional Diwali activities, including music and dance performances and traditional rangoli art from India at the festival. The rangoli art activity will take place outside in the Community Center courtyard with performances in El Palo Alto Room, and craft activities in the Adobe Room.

The event is free for the entire community to enjoy. It is organized by the Palo Alto City Library with the assistance of community volunteer Kiran Varshneya, and is sponsored by the Friends of the Palo Alto Library.
