Grateful Dead Party In The Skies: Unbelievable Rainbow And An...Oops!

The Dead launch their farewell tour into the skies at Levi's Stadium.

The Grateful Dead launched their farewell tour Saturday evening in Northern California minus the late Jerry Garcia and his signature solos.

Or did he somehow make it afterall?

At least two things happened during the “Fare Thee Well” show Saturday at Levi’s Stadium that indicate the great one may still have an active hand in the band: First, a stoner moment from a skywriter trying to create a peace sign; next came an unbelievable, near-perfect rainbow arcing about the stadium.

Little doubt remains about whether the skywriter got it right. (See the video for the finish.)

The Twitter-verse, though, was divided on the rainbow, with several people reporting the Dead had it created at a cost of $50,000. Feel free to decide otherwise. Either way: Wow.
