Palo Alto City Council Election 2020: Live Updates

Palo Alto voters have been casting ballots for four open seats on the Palo Alto City Council.

PALO ALTO, CA — Former Mayor Patrick Burt leads a crowded field in the Palo Alto City Council race Wednesday.

Burt, who is among 10 candidates vying for four open seats, had 10,767 (13.66 percent) of the vote as of 5 p.m. with 62 percent of Santa Clara County’s vote counted. The county expects to update its count Thursday at 9 a.m.

Incumbent Lydia Kou is in second place with 9,782 votes, incumbent Greg Tanaka is in third place with 9,043 and teacher Greer Stone is in fourth place with 9,008 votes.

The other candidates are Rebecca Eisenberg, Cari Templeton, Ed Lauing, Steven Lee, Raven Malone and Ajit Varma.
