PALO ALTO, CA — Police are investigating racial epithets directed at white people found in a bathroom at El Camino Park in Palo Alto as a hate crime vandalism.

In a news release, Palo Alto police said that officers were alerted last Friday evening to the writings in black marker in several areas of the bathroom and they were removed by a public works crew.

Police believe the incident occurred either Thursday or Friday. On Mar. 21, another hate crime vandalism occurred at Heritage Park, though police don’t think there is a connection between the two events.
