Palo Alto Police Seek Suspect Who Escaped Following Robbery

Police believe that the suspect who escaped is the one who committed the actual robbery and made criminal threats.

PALO ALTO, CA — The Palo Alto Police Department is looking for a suspect who escaped following a robbery on Monday. A second suspect, a 16-year-old male juvenile from San Mateo, was arrested, according to police.

The juvenile was carrying a loaded, unregistered 9mm handgun in his sweatshirt and a knife in his backpack, according to police. He was charged with several felony and misdemeanor counts that included possession of a concealed, loaded firearm and resisting arrest.

Police believe that the suspect who escaped is the one who committed the actual robbery and made criminal threats. The incident took place at 9 p.m. on Monday near the Cubberley Community Center. Police responded to a call from a victim, who was walking his dog, that two men had threatened to shoot him and his dog.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers said they found two more victims who had been robbed by the same two men. Officers chased the suspects near Mitchell Park and arrested one of them.

The outstanding suspect is described by victims as an unknown race male between 16 and 22, tall and slender, with light-colored hair. He was wearing a blue mask and dark-colored clothing.
