The prescription drug theft took place early Friday morning.

PALO ALTO, CA — Police are looking for three suspects in an armed robbery that happened at a Palo Alto Safeway store early Friday morning.

The PAPD are describing the suspects as three Hispanic male adults in their 20s with medium builds. Surveillance video shows the suspect who held the gun wore a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and red tennis shoes, according to the PAPD. The second suspect wore a yellow hooded sweatshirt with a Tommy Hilfiger logo, dark pants, and black shoes. The third suspect wore a red hooded jacket, grey pants, white sneakers, and is clean-shaven. The getaway car is described as a full-size red two-door pickup truck. It appeared to be an early 2000 model Ford or Chevrolet.

Sergeant Craig Lee of the PAPD tells Patch that the Safeway robbery is not related to a jewel and watch smash-and-grab theft that took place at the Palo Alto Bloomingdale's early Tuesday morning, which also involved three suspects.
