Highway 101 Crash Victim ID'd As 21-Year-Old Stanislaus Co. Woman

The single-car crash happened early Sunday morning on Highway 101.

SUNNYVALE, CA — A 21-year-old woman killed early Sunday in a solo-vehicle crash in Sunnyvale has been identified as Savannah Hernandez, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Hernandez was killed shortly after 5 a.m. when the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck she was riding in somehow flipped over and landed on its roof against a tree off of a connector ramp from westbound state Highway 237 to northbound U.S. Highway 101, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The pickup's driver, a minor, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, CHP officials said.

Hernandez was a resident of Riverbank, a city near Modesto in Stanislaus County.
