Tickets Go On Sale Soon For Filoli Estate's 'Holiday Traditions'

Always a fast sellout, the popular events include a children's luncheon with Santa, lunch buffets and the shopping boutique!

WOODSIDE, CA – Always a Bay Area favorite, Filoli’s spectacular nine-day holiday fundraising event begins Friday, Nov. 25 with the theme “Holiday Traditions at Filoli — Celebrate! 100 Years of Holidays.”

Rooms throughout the first floor of the historic House and Visitor & Education Center are transformed into a holiday atmosphere with decorations, music and merchandise at the Holiday Boutique. Numerous local choral and performing groups and Bay Area musicians’ add to the ambiance during this one-of-a-kind event, a collaborative effort of Filoli staff, along with more than 800 volunteers.

This year’s Holiday Traditions also ties in with Filoli’s Centennial being celebrated from 2015 through 2017, as Mr. and Mrs. William Bowers Bourn II built the Filoli house from 1915 to 1917.

The kickoff will be Opening Night on Friday evening, Nov. 25, when the dining room transforms into a yesteryear holiday party with Roth family decorations and Centennial memorabilia. Guests enjoy live music, appetizers, champagne, wine and other beverages under the festively lit tent on the terrace and in the dining room.

Daytime holiday shopping begins Nov. 26.

Buffet lunches and evening bistro dining are available at select times during the week with advance reservations.

Young families can enjoy the Children’s Luncheon on Saturday, Dec. 3, designed especially for those five to 10 with fun food, a visit with Santa and children’s entertainment during the party in the Visitor & Education Center.

Ticket prices vary with each event, space is limited and advance ticket purchase is highly recommended as some dates and times sell out early. Beginning Oct. 17, non-members may purchase tickets by mail, fax or by calling Filoli weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at (650) 364-8300, ext. 508.

Filoli, located in Woodside, is recognized as one of the finest remaining country estates of the early 20th century. The 654-acre property features a 54,256 square foot Georgian revival style mansion designed by Willis Polk, and furnished with an extensive collection of 17th and 18th century English and Irish antiques.
