Week Ahead: Shakespeare and West Coast Songwriters Competition

Have fun with your friends this summer at Upstart Crows Shakespeare Camp being held at First United Methodist Church of Palo Alto, 625 Hamilton Avenue. The 2-week session meets weekdays from 9am-3pm with optional aftercare until 5:30 pm.

The Palo Alto City Council will hold its regular Monday, June 17 council session at City Hall 250 Hamilton Ave. Here's the agenda, which includes a closed session (5 p.m.) discussion about the potential litigation regarding the construction of the Mitchell Park Library and (6:30 p.m.) several consent calendar items for the approval of millions of dollars in expenditures.

The Palo Alto Unified School District will hold a regular board meeting in Tuesday, June 18 in the board administration building at 25 Churchill Ave. at 6:30 p.m. The agenda items include the Stratford School lease extension of the Garland School site until June 30, 2015; boundary changes; the proposed 2013-14 budget.

If you sing, play an instrument or both, the West Coast Songwriters Song Competition, Palo Alto Chapter hosts their monthly program this Wednesday, June 19 at 7 p.m. the Midpeninsula Community Media Center  900 San Antonio Rd. It's $10 for WCS members in good standing to participate ($7 students), $15 for non-WCS members ($12 students). The suggested donation for audience members is $2 to $3.
