Weekend Head-on Crash Victim Identified

The crash happened on Junipero Serra Boulevard around 7 p.m.

A 45-year-old man killed in a head-on collision Saturday evening near Stanford University has been identified as Donovan Meher of Redwood City, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.

Meher was driving a 2009 Nissan Versa south on Junipero Serra Boulevard between Campus Drive and Stanford Avenue around 7 p.m., when witnesses saw him cross the roadway’s double yellow lines into a northbound lane, California Highway Patrol officials said.

He collided with a northbound 2012 Volkswagen Passat driven by a 64-year-old Redwood City woman, according to the CHP.

Meher was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was transported to Stanford Hospital for major injuries, CHP officials said. Investigators have not determined if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the collision, according to the CHP.
