Wender Weis Foundation For Children Launches #SPARKWONDER
Campaign To Raise Funds for 49ers Academy's COVID-19 Emergency Fund
Wender Weis Foundation for Children (WWFC) has created a series of joyful vignettes featuring professional athletes and celebrities showcasing ways they are staying active while sheltering in place as a way to introduce their new #SPARKWONDER campaign. The goal of the campaign is to raise $25,000 for the San Francisco 49ers COVID-19 Emergency Fund to provide food and support for kids and families in East Palo Alto.
“We asked our community of athletes and celebrities to share moments that remind them of joy and wonder even in times of darkness,” said Amy Wender, President/Founder of WWFC. Our community of champions – Steve Young, Brandi Chastain, Jeremy Affeldt, Joc Pederson, Shawn Estes, Hunter and Alexis Pence, Alex Morgan, Ricky Watters, Michael + Sara Franti, Jennifer Azzi, AnnaLynne McCord, Stanford athletes, Liam Mayclem, Dennis Brown and more, enthusiastically responded and we couldn’t be more thrilled."

Inspired by a community of champions, WWFC has created the #sparkwonder challenge and a way to invite others to donate to the 49ers COVID-19 Emergency Fund. “As a special incentive, anyone who raises $100 or sponsors an underserved child can choose a youth to participate in a weekly ZOOM activity experience with a sports star as a way to say thank you,” said Amy Wender.
