Big Bear Quake Rattles Region

Residents in los Angeles County felt a morning quake epicentered in Big Bear.

PASADENA, CA - A 3.4 earthquake rattled a section of San Bernardino County today, and it was felts as far as Los Angeles, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The temblor struck at 7:25 a.m. at a depth of about 4 miles, its epicenter 19 miles east-northeast of Big Bear City and 31 miles north of Desert Hot Springs, according to a USGS computer-generated report.
