The purpose of a Unity Run, shared in a statement:

-Recognize the unbreakable spirit of the running community by bringing running clubs together for a common purpose and to do so by doing what we love to do: RUN.

-Bring out our local runners who have run previous Boston Marathons and/or who were there this past Monday, as a participant or spectator, as emblematic of our support of the grand daddy of all marathons and, truly, one of the greatest racing events in the world

-To seek support from local and national audiences who will see how runners from everywhere support each other, that the running community, when push comes to shove, is one united community and that being united makes a difference

-To encourage the larger community to get involved in running, either on their own or with any of the many local running clubs in our participating cities.

Members of the Pasadena Pacers running club will participate Sunday as will Dog Haus Running Club, which shared on their facebook page, “Hope you can make it out for this meaningful & momentous run!”
