Pasadena to Celebrate Cheeseburger Week Again

After a successful first run in 2012, the week celebrating the famous food allegedly created in Pasadena will continue in 2013.

Cheeseburger Week celebrated the American classic this past January, while claiming that Pasadena’s Rite Spot was the birthplace of the cheeseburger way back in circa 1922.

Considering all the burger offerings already in town and those constantly popping up—Umami Burger and Slater’s 50/50 to name a couple—Pasadena seems as good a place as any for a cheeseburger celebration and friendly throwdown between local eateries.

Well, Pasadena cheeseburger lovers rejoice, because Cheeseburger Week is returning Jan. 13-18 2013, Pasadena Restaurant Week announced on their website.

Part of the week includes the Cheeseburger Challenge, where diners can vote for favorites in a variety of categories including traditional diner burgers and fine dining burgers and alternatives. Plus a Cheeseburger Crawl is in store, but Pasadena Restaurant Week is staying mum on all the details for now.

Three businesses are already confirmed to participate, Pasadena Restaurant Week shared on their facebook page Tuesday:
