PASADENA, CA — Fresh Brothers, a restaurant chain that prides itself on putting a "California twist" on pizza, this week opened its 21st locale — and its first in Pasadena — with takeout and delivery service.

“We couldn’t be happier with the opportunity to bring Fresh Brothers to Pasadena and further extend our footprint into the San Gabriel Valley,” said Geoffrey Goodman, Fresh Brothers' CEO. “This is a wonderful community, and we are thrilled to now be a part of it.”

The pizzeria is operating daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with curbside pick-up and delivery from the food-service company Kitchen United Mix, at 55 South Madison Ave. in Pasadena.

Fresh Brothers got its initial start in the 1980s in Chicago by brothers, Scott and Adam Goldberg, which eventually led to Adam and his wife bringing their pizza expertise to Southern California, with stores throughout the Westside and San Fernando Valley.

"Adam was inspired, and decided to take the traditional Chicago-style family recipes to the West Coast," the restaurant states on its website. "He and his wife, Debbie, opened the first Fresh Brothers in 2008, pioneering pizza with a California twist."
