Man Guilty of Murdering Girlfriend, Setting Her Pasadena Apartment on Fire

A jury today found a 30-year-old Los Angeles man guilty of murdering his girlfriend and then setting her Pasadena apartment on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence.

On Sept. 30, 2011, Pasadena firefighters called to a structure fire at an apartment building at 59 S. Meridith Ave. found the body of 27-year-old Maria Donnelly in an apartment.

Investigators determined that Green had beaten Donnelly to death before setting the apartment ablaze.

Green, who is being held in lieu of $1.3 million bail, is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 14.
