King’s Row to Kick off Movember With Pig Roast and Shave Party

The Old Town gastropub is hosting a "Shave the Date" pig roast with complimentary shaves so men can start off fresh growing a Movember moustache in support of men's health.

Whether you like or like to hate mustaches, the annual moustache-glorifying month of “Movember” is ultimately about promoting men’s health, particularly awareness of prostate and testicular cancer issues. Think of it as the male version of wearing pink in support of breast cancer awareness. And an excuse for men not to shave.

To kick off Movember, King’s Row Gastropub in Old Town (20 E. Colorado Blvd) is hosting a “Shave the Date” party Thursday night starting at 6:30 p.m.

18 | 8 men’s salon in Paseo Colorado will be shaving attendees free of charge on the King’s Row patio from 6:30-8 p.m. so gents can start off the month with a fresh moustache-growing canvas.

And if that’s not macho enough, a pig roast is also happening on the patio and a cheesy ball—meatball, that is—special will be taking place throughout November with a portion of the dish’s proceeds donated to Movember. The cheesy ball special has three meatballs or beef and pork, beer cheese sauce, roasted Brussels sprouts and crispy onions.

Eagle Rock Brewery is King’s Row’s Movember sponsor and partial proceeds of their beers at Kings Row will also benefit Movember.

Commemorative Movember mugs will also be on sale to benefit Movember and if you bring your mug back during the month you get $1 off all beers.
