Music: Janis Ian Comes to Caltech

Folk singer Janis Ian entertained in her second-ever visit to Pasadena at a recent concert at Caltech's Beckman Institute Auditorium, where she was well-received by a 200-person audience, according to a concert review in the Pasadena Star-News.

Ian's Pasadena Folk Music Society appearance at Caltech featured a performance of perhaps her best-known song "Society's Child," which focuses on racial intolerance ... a pretty heavy topic during the 1960s, when it was recorded. Ian was still a teenager when the song debuted.
