Pasadena Police Department Awarded DUI Safety Grant
A DUI saturation patrol is planned for Dec. 13.

The Pasadena Police Department was awarded a $136,370 traffic safety grant for its anti-DUI program aimed at preventing deaths and injuries on roadways, it was announced today.
The grant was awarded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.

"Traffic safety ranks among the highest priorities of the Pasadena Police Department," said Chief Philip Sanchez. "Collisions have claimed seven lives in Pasadena this year, and the programs with this grant will assist us in our goal of reducing collisions."
A DUI saturation patrol is planned for Dec. 13, followed on Dec. 20 by a driver's license/sobriety checkpoint -- both running from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. at undisclosed locations.
