Pasadena Received $6M to Renovate Robinson Park

Among the improvements are a new gym and 10,000 more square feet.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development recently loaned the city $6 million to refurbish Robinson Park and the community center there, according to a story in the Pasadena Sun.

Loren Pluth, public works project manager for the city, told the Sun that among the targets for the improvements include the replacing of the gym with a new fitness center and building a 10,000-square-foot extension that reaches the corner of Fair Oaks and Hammond Street.

The Sun piece also touches on Pasadena's history with the black comminuty as well as Mack and Jackie Robinson's time in the city. You can see the rest of the story here.
